  4. To make Carmel. Combine the sugar , corn syrup in a sausepan . I used a non stick one. Cook stirring until a deep amber color. Remove from heat add butter, cream , vanilla one at a time. Be careful might splatter. When pie is cool. Pour all over the top. ( it makes pretty much. I did not put all my carmel on. I saved the rest of it).

Place pie plate on a baking sheet. This pie is so luscious that you may never make a plain old apple pie again. Just before the top crust is put on, caramel syrup and pecans are spooned onto the apple filling. Serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. In a bowl mix peeled apples, lemon juice, sugar, flour and ¼ teaspoon salt.
