The ingredients needed to make Thai Money bag:
  1. Prepare 10-12 wonton wrap (you can use filo pastry or spring rolls sheets)
  2. Prepare 250 g minced turkey, minced chicken or pork
  3. Get 1/2 onion (small diced)
  4. Make ready 1 clove garlic (finely chopped)
  5. Prepare 1 (1 tbsp) oyster sauce
  6. Make ready 1 tbsp bamboo shoots (optional) (finely chopped)
  7. Make ready 1/2 carrot (small diced)
  8. Prepare 1 spring onion (finely chopped)
  9. Get 1 egg white
  10. Prepare 1 spring onion, cut in vertically long
  11. Take Ground pepper
  12. Make ready 2-3 cup cooking oil

Thai money bag is a Thai appetizer. Since Thai cooking has a version of these money bag wontons as well, I tweaked the seasoning to include fish sauce. I think this is the most flavourful wontons I have made to date. You can also boil them for wonton soup or add them to steamboat (hot pot).

Steps to make Thai Money bag:
  1. Mix minced turkey with garlic, onion, carrot, spring onions, bamboo shoot. Then season it with oyster sauce, soysauce. Add egg white and mix well.
  2. Soak your long spring onion in hot water for a few mins then put them in cold water. Use paper towel to dry them.
  3. Separate your wonton sheet or filo pastry. Put the sheet on to your less dominant palm then add about 1 tbsp of the meat in. Squeeze the top of wonton lightly to close them up. Repeat until you wrap them all.
  4. Use one spring onion string to tie the top of your wonton wrap or filo pastry.
  5. On a medium heat pan, add cooking oil wait until it starts to get hot then add those money bags in 4-5 at the time. Keep turn them until all evening crispy and golden.
  6. Put them in kitchen towel to get rid of cooking oil. Serve them with sweet chilli sauce. Enjoy 😉
